Wadhwani Foundation is a not-for-profit with the primary mission of accelerating economic development by driving job creation through large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skilling. Founded in 2000 by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, the Foundation is scaling impact in 20 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the US.
Advantage program empowers thousands of small and medium-sized businesses with capabilities to maximize their growth potential.
We believe that business growth for SMEs will result in more jobs creation and thus help us fulfill foundation goals.
Since job creation is our focus, we focus on growth-related improvements for businesses.
Endeavoring to accelerate business growth is not easy, and it will require a lot of commitment from SME entrepreneurs.
As part of our self-service Advantage platform, you will go through a continuous cycle of Assessment -> Empowerment -> Improvement in various functions of your business.
Assessment will involve gathering data about your business and answering many multiple-choice questions. Typical time spent in each assessment will be less than 30 minutes. However, you may have to spend significant time gathering the data needed for the assessment.
Empowerment is about making you aware via training, coaching, and mentoring on a specific topic where assessment shows you need to improve. Again, this will require significant commitment and time on your and your team’s side.
Improvement focus is on helping you create a plan of action. It includes empowerment in specific areas, creating measurable goals, doing self-improvement initiatives, or working with an external consultant to help you in a specific area.
This cycle of assessment, empowerment, and improvement has to continue in different smaller or larger functions of your business.
Unless you are willing to focus on your business growth and spend significant time on this program, this program is not for you.
All services provided directly by the Foundation are free.
Few partners (consultants/mentors) provide their services on a pro-bono basis.
However, many partners who may help you during the improvement phase may charge for their services. We provide a curated list of partners for a specific improvement initiative. But it is entirely up to you to choose the partner you want to work with, or if you feel comfortable, you can go on the path of self-improvement.
Foundation does not charge or is involved in any commissions from these partners. They are purely curated based on their credentials and feedback from other SMEs.
The Wadhwani Foundation charges no fee for the program. However, we only select a few SMEs interested in growing their business rapidly and willing to spend time for this program.
